KOMODO-X is the newest addition to RED’s popular KOMODO line of small form-factor 6K global shutter sensor cameras for cinema. KOMODO-X builds on the original KOMODO, multiplying frame rates and advancing dynamic range performance while expanding on the versatility of KOMODO. 

KOMODO-X features a next-generation 6K S35 Global Shutter sensor, expanding on the renowned KOMODO image performance with architecture improvements that allow for increased low-light performance and double the frame rates at 6K 80P and 4K 120P, making KOMODO-X an even more powerful tool for filmmakers across the industry.

Komodo-x features a completely overhauled sensor architecture, with updated pixel design and improvements in both detail and color in shadows.

Improved body design

A robust locking rf mount, with professional micro v-lock battery interface and all-new assignable tactile buttons

6k at 80 fps & 4k at 120 fps

Komodo-X achieves 80 fps in 6K and 120 fps in 4K, thanks to the new sensor design and processing, as well as support for CFexpress.

Advanced platform

Expanded i/o, including updated monitoring capabilities with support for DSMC3 touch LCD, built-in USB type-C, and newly engineered audio hardware, including locking +48v audio connector with improved preamp.

Production ready

Komodo-x carries on the legacy of a shockingly small form factor, but now with more advanced i/o options, allowing for more professional monitoring, cabling and powering, as well as expanded remote capabilities like red connect.
